INFO FOR YOUR HEALTH
The World Health Organisation claims that the number one factor in developing cancer is not eating enough vegetables. The body needs fresh nutrients found in fresh vegetables.
A high fat diet may lead to obesity and obesity is a risk factor for several cancers.
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer effecting women. Diets high in vegetables, fruit and mono-unsaturated fat may reduce the risk, while alcohol, smoking and obesity increase the risk
Prostate cancer is the third most common cause of death of men in Australia. Vegetables, soy in particular, may decrease the risk while dairy products, fatty meats and take-away foods may increase it.
“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” Thomas Edison
Although many of the foods we eat are not toxic, they may not contain the nutrients every body needs. A car needs oil, water, coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluid as well as petrol to run effectively. So too do our bodies need a variety of foods—fresh fruits, nuts, grains and vegetables—to stay healthy. Consider increasing your consumption of: leafy green veges, carrots, tomatoes, citrus fruits, cruciferous veges like broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, bok choy and other Asian greens.
